Film does not make a moment more important. It asks us to pay closer attention to one that already is. The pace is deliberate: a real mechanical camera, a finite roll, and a photographer deciding when a frame is worth making.
On Maui, Kodak color film gives warm sand, ocean blue, tropical greens, and skin a gentle, dimensional rendering. The result is not “better” than digital. It is a companion to it: more tactile, less immediate, and beautifully imperfect in the ways that make an image feel lived in.
The upgrade is for families, couples, proposals and intimate weddings who want part of their gallery made on a medium with a physical original—the negative itself.

Film frames are made alongside your session, not instead of the digital photographs that keep the experience flexible and complete. We will choose the moments best suited to it: a quiet embrace, a family grouped in soft light, a dress moving in the wind, or the look that happens just before someone laughs.
Because film is processed and scanned after the session, its timing differs from the digital gallery. Ask us when you book and we will confirm the current options and delivery details for your date.

Is this a replacement for our digital gallery?
No. The Kodak film upgrade is an addition to the session. Digital capture keeps the gallery complete while film adds a small, intentional collection of analog photographs.
Does film work for families and children?
Yes. We use it thoughtfully rather than asking children to perform for the camera. A few calm, connected moments are often all it takes.
Can we request film for a wedding or proposal?
Yes. Let us know what you are planning and we will recommend whether film is a natural fit for the timing, light, and pace of the occasion.
What film stock will be used?
We will confirm the current Kodak or Fujifilm stock with you during planning. The goal is always natural skin, graceful color and a result that feels timeless rather than trendy.
