Laurence Balter founded Wailea Photo more than 25 years ago and has personally photographed thousands of families, couples and weddings across Wailea, Makena and South Maui.
What started as one photographer with a camera and a love for Maui's light has grown into a family business. Today Laurence photographs alongside his wife, Jude, and sons Max and Solomon.

Laurence has spent more than 25 years learning Maui's beaches, tide patterns and changing light — knowledge he uses to plan every session around the exact spot and moment that will look best for each family.
He has photographed thousands of visiting families, many of whom return on later trips specifically to work with him again.
